"In this account of adventure I take the role of a Congolese astronaut. The rocket takes off from Kinshasa towards Europa, the moon of Jupiter. On this barren planet I bring life thanks to fertilizer and a luminous seed coming out of my belly. Then the soil of the planet is populated with plants. I decide to become the queen of Europa. Later my astronaut friends join me and the three of us give life to an even more complex being. This strange form of life populate the grounds of Europa in very little time. A futuristic afro feminist community is born on Europa."

"My Tinnitus has a secret to share is a compilation whose initial goal is to exist solely in an intimate setting between me and certain relatives. A protection voluntarily broken right here. It reveals the memory of the body and its digital presence, as well as its fragility in exposing its nature in the physical world. With multiple past experiences in various internet communities, I hereby expose, with the help of certain "Stan Twitter" codes, an idea of my person untied from any "real" language. Facing this dissonance is accepting our multipliable identities. “

Josiane M.H Pozi, lundi, 2021, video still 1

Josiane M.H Pozi, lundi, 2021, video still 1

While Josiane herself often appears on camera, visually or audibly, it is her connection to the various subjects who share her screen that creates frisson in the absence of traditional cinema’s “coherent narrative,” instead forming a loose portrait of the artist in close relations.
Her vignettes describe a kind of social diegesis unfolding in real time for the auteur. Without marking a strict dichotomy between authenticity and artifice, Pozi’s inversion of video and experience is a precise post-cinematic perspective on the hypertrophied feedback loop of performativity that haunts the contemporary period. Whether her approach is realism, documentary, or something else entirely, the unalterable problem of coming of age under such conditions needs little dressing up.
